BF2 Patches Ending?

Planet Battlefield links to what they seem to feel is a credible blog post on DigitalBattle that refers to an unlinked forum post indicating that no further patches for Battlefield 2 are in the works. The last patch issued for the military shooter sequel was the version 1.41 update from November, and according to the report, with the former members of DICE Canada having formed Red Jade and the remainder of DICE at work maintaining BF 2142, there is no one to support the older game. The post also points out that companies rarely officially announce situations like this, so while it is still possible EA/DICE will officially deny this rumor, it is doubtful that they would ever officially confirm it.
