The United States of America is driven by deep political divisions. The country is split by internal strife over matters of vital national interest while a deeply unpopular Republican president (considered a massive failure at everything else he ever tried) comes to office promising to heal those divisions, but instead finds them getting worse every day. The difference is that the colors the country has split itself into aren't red and blue, but blue and grey. The year is 1860 and America is about to enter the darkest period in her history. The place is Gen Con, and I'm taking a look at a fascinating, hardcore, turn-based strategy game called Forge of Freedom.
