In New York, Paradox Interactive, publisher of King Arthur is hosting a major press conference and hands-on event covering their products for 2011. We’ve got staff covering it live, and we’ll bring you as many updates and impressions as possible over the next day. We’ll update this post as news and assets arrive with us. Here's a few announcements so far today:
Paradox announce free-to-play Gettysburg: Armoured Warfare
Gettysburg: Armored Warfare is a free-to-play RTS/FPS hybrid set in an alternate history of the American Civil War, where the battles were fought not just with muskets, but with tanks and armored blimps. We’re told the game will feature persistent and customizable armies and large scale battles.
Hearts of Iron III to Receive a New Expansion Pack
Paradox Interactive have announced today For The Motherland. The game is to feature a much deeper political system, the ability to stage coups and Allies vs Axis vs Comintern (Communists) combat. Paradox are also hoping to alter the pace of the game somewhat too, in the hope that players will be able to complete a game in a single evening.
Free-to-play Hearts of Iron Card Game Announced
Paradox Interactive have announced the latest game in the popular Hearts of Iron series; a free-to-play digital card game.
Hearts of Iron: The Card Game will see players take on the role of either and Allied or Axis tank commander and destroy their opponents through the use cards. A trading system will be implemented as well as deck management.
Paradox Announce Free-to-Play MMO Salem
The MMORPG is set in a mythical version of New England, and see players stepping off a boat in Boston and then having to fend for themselves in the ‘New World’.
The game puts emphasis on a player-driven world that promotes crafting skills. Even more interesting, when your character dies he’s gone forever, leaving all your creations to be pillaged by other players. Harsh.
