Mozilla Corporation today announced an updated version of their popular mail client Thunderbird, to version 2.0.0.17. The 2.0.0.17 T-Bird includes only security fixes, seven to be exact, two of them being rated Critical. The most serious issues fixed where with a buffer overflow that happened when canceling newsgroup messages and the application's URL parsing routines. If you already have Thunderbird 2.0.0.x, you will receive an automated update notification within 24 to 48 hours. This update can also be applied manually by selecting "Check for Updates..." from the Help menu. First time users can download Thunderbird 2.0.0.17 from the Thunderbird Downloads Page. 6.4 MB
