The piracy MMO is finally out of the docks!

An MMO about pirates seems like such a good idea, it's a wonder that it hasn't been attempted before. And, for the most part, the recently launched Pirates of the Burning Sea lives up to the promise of its premise. A lively world of multiplayer mayhem across the beautiful Caribbean, complete with treasure maps, rum factories, saber duels, colorful parrots and all the other cliches you'd expect from the setting. Great ship combat and an intricate economy make for another an attractive feature, but the game may run aground owing to a lack of in-game help and a completely chaotic dueling system. The game's been up and running for a short while now and while we're not entirely ready to pass our final verdict, we thought we'd dive in and offer up some early impressions.
