Rome is one of those games that's difficult to judge after just one sitting. It's the sort of game that features a whole lifetime of strategic options and tactical choices - the sort of game that demands nothing less than the utmost dedication and devotion on the part of its players. So it'll probably be exactly the sort of game to appeal to fans of the previous games in the Europa Universalis series. There have been three so far, all of them set around or about the fifteenth to eighteenth centuries, and all of them the recipient of significant praise from reviewers (with IGN awarding an impressive 9.0 to the first two games in the series).
