Quake Wars Open Beta Hands-on Preview

Quake Wars Open Beta. Words you've all been dying to hear for the last year or so. Well it's a reality now. For the last couple of days, spots have been opened up to Fileplanet users and we, thankfully, have been included. Those of you that haven't quite yet will be able to join the ongoing public beta starting tomorrow around 10am PST (Updated from the previous expected time of 2pm) when Fileplanet puts thousands of beta keys up for grabs. Starting Wednesday and going through Friday keys will be avaialable for Fileplanet subsrcibers with more keys opening up over the weekend for anyone to play so there's a more gradual ramp up for the test. Around 60,000 keys total will be given out. The guys at Splash Damage, the development house responsible for the excellent Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory multiplayer game, have put together a fast paced, team-based, and objective focused game that we've been enjoying quite mightily today.
