First Class Simulations and Abacus are happy to introduce the first title in a new Mission Series of games: Black Hawk features full-length flight adventures to keep you challenged. These heart-pounding scenarios take full advantage of FSX's mission building capabilities. You'll be flying the "hawk" set of helicopters - Black Hawk, Sea Hawk, Pave Hawk and Jay Hawk.
Black Hawk gives you the chance to fly 9 different variants of the Black Hawk helicopter. Each aircraft includes a detailed virtual cockpit and authentic Black Hawk sound FX. All five branches of the United States military use the Black Hawk so this package includes the Coast Guard (Jay Hawk), Air Force (Pave Hawk & Night Hawk) and Navy (Sea Hawk) versions.
The Black Hawk is one of the most versatile series of helicopters ever developed for warfare scenarios. Originally developed to replace the UH-1 Iroquois in 1972 for the US Army, it can perform a wide array of missions including tactical support of troops, electronic warfare and aero medical evacuation. Several VH-60N Black Hawks, known as Marine One, are even used to transport the President of the United States. During air assault operations, the Black Hawk can move a squad of 11 combat troops with equipment or carry 2,600 lb of cargo or sling a 9,000 lb load of cargo. The Black Hawk is also equipped with advanced avionics and electronics for increased survivability and capability.
Black Hawk variants included are:
HH-60H Seahawk (US Navy)
HH-60J Jayhawk (US Coast Guard
MH-60G Pavehawk (Desert - US Air Force)
MH-60G Pavehawk (Grey – US Air Force)
MH-60K Nighthawk (Desert - US Air Force)
MH-60K Nighthawk (Black - US Air Force)
UH-60L Blackhawk (Olive - US Army)
UH-60L Blackhawk (Tanks - US Army)
UH-60Q Blackhawk (Medivac - US Army)
Available exclusively for the FSX version of Black Hawk are a series of six exciting missions featuring full-length flight adventures to keep you challenged. Mission objectives include: Saving the crew of a stricken oil tanker; flying to the hurricane-devastated area of Lake Chapala to rescue survivors; investigating a mysterious object which has crashed in your training area; re-supplying submarine and aircraft carriers engaged in a show of strength against a rogue nation; freeing hostages being held by a terrorist organisation on an oilrig.
