We've all seen PCs with boom microphones that sit up on your desk top, and those integrated into laptops, webcams, and even some LCD monitors. Those may work fine with web chat software, but in games, they're unsuitable. They tend to pick up the game sounds and re-broadcast them to everyone, creating a long-distance internet-lagged echo chamber. What you really need is a decent headset. Today we'll look at a pair of them — Creative's Fatal1ty gaming headset ($50 list) and the Genius HS-04U USB headset ($49).
