Another game we discovered in the wake of Codemasters' apparent implosion was Outfront II, the working title for a sequel to last year's Soldiers: Heroes of World War II. For those who missed that game (unfortunately, that would most of you), it was a real-time tactical World War II game similar to the classic Commandos franchise and the more recent Silent Storm. Players commanded a small squad of troops from the major countries and sides of the war, completing a variety of missions. Despite the game's attractive premise and 3D engine, it faltered when it came to squad control, difficultly, and some unfortunate bugs. However, we were pleased to see the sequel on display in 1C's very yellow booth at E3.
