Sapphire today announced its AMD 690G-based motherboard, the PURE Innovation HDMI PI-AM2RS690MHD. The new PURE Innovation HDMI supports AMD processors designed for Socket AM2. Four memory slots with support for DDR2-800/667/533 with a maximum capacity of 8GB is available on the PURE Innovation HDMI.
Sapphire’s PURE Innovation HDMI takes advantage of all the AMD 690G’s video output capabilities including DVI-D, HDMI, TV and VGA outputs. Sapphire places HDMI and VGA outputs on the motherboard while DVI-D and TV-outputs are available on a separate card and header. The HDMI output is HDMI 1.2 compliant with support for HDCP and output resolutions up to 1080p.
In addition to video, the integrated HDMI output passes audio as well. A DVIO expansion card that resembles a PCIe card provides a single dual-link DVI-D output. The dual-link DVI-D output supports up to resolutions of 2560x1600 from the onboard ATI Radeon X1250 graphics core. Users that opt to install a separate graphics card can take advantage of the SurroundView features for quad-displays – two monitors on the HDMI and VGA outputs, two on the add-in graphics card.
Unique to the Sapphire PURE Innovation HDMI is the milky white PCB. Aside from the milky white PCB, the Sapphire PURE Innovation HDMI pairs AMD’s 690G with the SB600 south bridge. The SB600 provides one PCIe x1 and 2 PCI expansion slots, 10 USB 2.0, 1 PATA133 and 4 SATA 3.0Gbps ports. High-definition audio with eight-channel analog outputs and S/PDIF audio output is also integrated. Other notable features include Gigabit Ethernet and two IEEE 1394 ports.
