If you've blazed your way through Battlefield 2 or Desert Combat, you'll know why Kaos' upcoming game, Frontlines: Fuel of War, is worth keeping fixed in your crosshair. These guys built the Desert Combat mod back when they were Trauma Studios, then helped Dice on Battlefield 2. What Desert Combat veteran could forget the sheer joy of lobbing artillery shells from the back of an AC-130 Spectre, watching the ant-like players below scurrying for cover? Desert Combat took all that was good about Battlefield 1942, replaced the creaking Shermans and aging M1 Garands with Abrams battle tanks and M-16s, and activated the afterburners on the game's pace. It was the game that Battlefield 2 became. And they were there to help it.
