Aspyr Media today announced that 1701 A.D. for the PC has gone gold. With over 4 million enthusiastic fans worldwide, 1701 A.D. gives North American players the chance to discover what all the excitement is about as they jump into a ship and set sail through some of the finest graphics ever to hit the PC. Players muster up some colonial spirit as they uncover and inhabit new islands in this unique empire-building simulation set in the 17th and 18th centuries.
In this third episode of the incredibly successful series, players climb aboard a vessel and set sail for places unknown to establish, expand and maintain a flourishing medieval metropolis. Gamers will experience a combination of empire building, strategy, trade and espionage as they grow their medieval metropolises and interact with other civilizations through diplomacy, economy or conflict.
