Sierra Entertainment, a division of Vivendi Games, today announced a partnership with The History Channel® to bundle complimentary DVD copies of the special "Rome: Engineering an Empire" with launch quantities of their historical city-builder PC game, Caesar IV. The bundle is available now for the suggested MSRP of $39.99.
“Our partnership with The History Channel brings together two franchises that complement each other perfectly,” said Cindy Cook, chief strategy and marketing officer for Vivendi Games. “Players will have the opportunity to watch the show and put the actual practices of Roman engineers to use in 'Caesar IV.'”
“We are very pleased to be teaming up with Sierra Entertainment to extend the player experience of 'Caesar IV,'” said Kate Winn, vice president, Sales & Marketing, A&E Home Video. “'Rome: Engineering an Empire' provides a unique look at the history of Rome through its engineering feats, and I think this will bring the players of Caesar IV a new perspective on the game.”
Winner of two Emmy® Awards, "Rome: Engineering an Empire" premiered in 2005 on The History Channel and received critical acclaim for its stunning digital recreations and the depth of its content. The program chronicles the rich history of the Roman Empire from the reign of Caesar in 44 B.C. to its eventual fall around 537 AD, detailing the remarkable works of architecture and technology in between that helped create Rome’s indelible mark on the world. "Rome: Engineering an Empire" was produced for The History Channel by KPI. Executive Producer for The History Channel is Dolores Gavin.
