Just Flight announces a landmark partnership with Infoterra Ltd and the imminent release of VFR Real Scenery for Flight Simulator X
When Just Flight published VFR Photographic Scenery for FS2002 it was rightly hailed as a milestone product in terms of flight simulation on home PCs. Now Just Flight has teamed with Infoterra Ltd, a leader in the provision of aerial data, for the use of the GeoPerspectives™ countrywide archive, in order to produce another series of amazing photographic scenery packages for Flight Simulator X. GeoPerspectives™ is a joint venture between Infoterra and BlueSky International Ltd.
VFR Real Scenery is due for publication at the same time as Flight Simulator X and is set to radically transform the scenery of the British Isles for virtual pilots. Initial coverage will be of England and Wales with other areas promised for the near future.
Martin Wright, who heads up the development team on the VFR Real Scenery project, commented: “The quality of the GeoPerspectives aerial data that we’ve been supplied by Infoterra is absolutely stunning. If you thought the original VFR Photographic Scenery was impressive, you’re in for a surprise. We’re able to provide incredible levels of detail in very manageable packages that won’t adversely affect frame rates. The images are right up to date and because Infoterra uses the latest digital cameras the data can be manipulated much more accurately for use in Flight Simulator.”
Infoterra’s sales director Andy Wells added: “We’re very pleased to be involved in what is a new area for us. GeoPerspectives data is used extensively in a variety of fields but this is the first time it’s been incorporated in a PC-based flight simulation product. Just Flight is the market leader in this genre and is therefore the perfect partner for Infoterra.”
