Enemy Territory takes over QuakeCon with 24 player madness.

Whether you hail from the tactical or twitch side of PC first-person shooters, there's really no denying the influence id Software has had over the years in building what is now not only one of the most popular PC genres, but also the most addictive competitive online gaming out there. Kicking off the FPS legacy with Doom, and later evolving into the world of Quake, id has always been there for the twitch-happy shooter fan in all of us. In a bold move, however, the company has now set its sights on the new wave of online gaming, teaming with developer Splash Damage (makers of Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory) to create what many loyal fans have been calling the "Battlefield Killer", with Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. While the game doesn't quite have the same Quake feel we're used to (10-second flag captures, cross-level rocket blasts, and brutal humiliation kills come to mind) there's simply no denying the sheer awesomeness of the game.
