Spy gadgets, equipment and weapons that are really used
Atomic Games, a developer of simulations for US military and intelligence agencies and a pioneer in military action games, is divulging the real gadgets and equipment elite operatives use on missions both in the game and in real life.
All of these will be available in the game when Breach™ comes out on January 26th, 2011 for Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC. They are already available in real life … if you’re a spy.
The elite forces that conduct black operations are often behind enemy lines, out-numbered and trying to accomplish clandestine missions. They need specialized equipment to even the odds, equipment like the IR Sniper Detector. It bounces IR beams off any scoped weapon, creating a flare that allows players to locate campers from across the map. The Sonic Imager can display high resolution live imagery of enemies on the other side of a wall. The M2 SLAM Charge is a sticky proximity mine that can be placed on any wall, ceiling, floor or vehicle surface to eliminate vehicles and enemy infantry. Breach also features Dragon Skin® armor, which is a flexible body armor system already credited with more than 392 confirmed saves during combat in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The real-world gear seen in Breach is being used for these purposes by real operatives on real assignments right now, and many have never been available before in any military shooter.
