At least once per year the top manufacturers come out with newer and faster products. But, this also normally means there is an increase in the amount of heat that these parts generate as well. Adversely, this means that airflow in and out of our cases has started becoming more and more important, and also why there seems to be more and more people switching over to water-cooling the hotter parts in their systems. But, even these water cooled systems require the use of fans to help keep their radiators cool, just like “air users” have to keep everything in their system cool as well. As the number of fans seems to be increasing in our cases, so too does the need to have control over how much power they are consuming and also how much noise they are making, and this is normally accomplished by way of a fan controller.
In keeping step, NZXT's Sentry 2 builds upon what was begun with their original Sentry LX model. What sets the NZXT Sentry 2 apart from the ones that other manufacturers are making, or even from their own line? The biggest difference is this: it is controlled by an LCD touch screen. Today we are going to take a look at the Sentry 2, and see if touch screen control is easier to deal with than the unlabeled dials we are used to using, or if this is just another attempt to sell us something that is over the top.
