War is hard as hell.

Being the site's resident historical strategy nut and a lifetime subscriber to World War II Aficionado, I tend to play a lot of the WW2 RTS games that pass through the office, even if I'm not specifically the one who's supposed to be reviewing them. One of the more memorable titles in recent memory is Best Way's "Soldiers: Heroes of World War 2". It was equal parts Sudden Strike, Commandos, Contra and thrown together with a healthy dose of realistic tactics and completely destructible environments. Unfortunately, the "Faces of War" sequel was less enjoyable and tended to emphasize the things that didn't quite work the first time around. Now Best Way is back with their third attempt, Men of War, which, in spite of a few lingering problems, is one of the most enjoyable and challenging tactical games we've played in a long time.
