That is correct, 12 GB! Familiarize yourself to the GeForce RTX 3080 Sumprim X 12GB and revel in the stillness. Join us as we examine the all-new GeForce RTX 3080, a refresh model that features increased memory and even faster-rendering performance. We put MSI’s Suprim X revision to the test. And you’re aware of what that entails: complete silence and enthusiast performance levels. NVIDIA’s refresh RTX 3080 graphics cards include increased graphics RAM and memory bus width. Additionally, the number of shader cores has been increased to 8960, up from 8704 on the RTX 3080 10GB. The GA-102 chip will remain the GPU of choice for the card. A 384-bit memory bus width increase gives the card 912 GB/s of bandwidth, which is comparable to the RTX 3080 Ti (which had 760 GB/s). The GeForce RTX 3080 12GB will have a thermal design power of 340-350W, which is similar to the thermal design power of the RTX 3080 Ti despite having more cores but the same memory configuration.

NVIDIA has released the latest version of GeForce Game Ready drivers. Version 497.29 WHQL comes game-ready for “GTFO,” and optimization for “Horizon Zero Dawn” with the added DLSS feature. Among the bugs fixed include a crash-to-desktop and visual artifacts with Microsoft Flight Simulator; a performance drop noticed with “Supreme Command:Forged Alliance/Supreme Commander 2,” a stutter noticed with Windows Desktop when the mouse is moved after an extended period of time; and some localization issues in NVIDIA Control Panel.

NVIDIA has released the GeForce 497.09 Game Ready drivers. These introduce launch-day optimization for “Icarus,” including support for NVIDIA DLSS, and RTX ray-traced global illumination (RTX-GI). The drivers also add optimization for “Chorus,” including DLSS support; and “Halo Infinite.” Six new displays receive NVIDIA G-SYNC support. Among the fixes released with these drivers are TDR or system crashes with “DOOM Eternal” and RDR2, a display corruption with ye olde “DOOM 3 BFG Edition,” extreme gamma/contrast issues with YouTube on hardware-accelerated web-browsers; NVIDIA Image Scaling resolutions not correctly appearing in-game after a driver update; and incompatibilities between Adaptive Sync and G-SYNC.

A curious addition with these drivers is support for the GeForce RTX 2060 12 GB graphics card. We’ve been hearing reports of NVIDIA resurrecting the RTX 2060 “Turing” with 12 GB of GDDR6 memory to target the 1080p gaming crowd; and these drivers confirm it. The 12 GB SKU could be achieved by pairing the “TU106″ GPU with 12 GB of memory across its 192-bit wide memory interface.
