NVIDIA today posted GeForce 442.74 WHQL Game Ready drivers. These come with optimization and bug fixes for the weekend’s biggest release, “DOOM Eternal,” which goes live in Asia and ANZ in a few minutes from now. AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin 20.2.2 got re-released as a WHQL-signed driver by AMD. The company had originally released it as a beta on February 28. The drivers come with optimization for “Zombie Army 4: Dead War,” but more importantly, fix a large number of software bugs plaguing Adrenalin 2020 Edition since its December 2019 release. These include several black-screen errors, bugs with Radeon Software, its various game optimization, recording, and streaming features, and more. Version 20.2.2 WHQL otherwise has an identical change-log to the 20.2.2 beta.

NVIDIA has released the latest version of their GeForce graphics drivers for your stability and gaming pleasure. The latest 442.50 WHQL version comes Game Ready for a number of updates to popular games, such as Apex Legends: Season 4, The Division 2 – Warlords of New York expansion, and ARK: Genesis Part 1.

Alongside these game-specific improvements, NVIDIA has also built into this new version some updated security features, though NVIDIA’s page for their Security Bulletin 4996 returns an error 404, so we are unable to go into specifics at this time. There are added VRSS profiles for VR gaming, and some specific fixes for a number of titles. Also of note is the inclusion of a number of monitors (namely AOC AG271FZ2, AOC AG271F1G2, and ASUS PG43U) to the G-Sync compatible list, so that’s three more monitors users can now use with NVIDIA’s certification.

AMD has just re-released Radeon Software 20.1.3 as WHQL. These drivers are identical to the Adrenalin 20.1.3 Beta drivers posted earlier this month, with the only difference being WHQL certification. It looks like AMD’s driver team is hard at work fixing the various issues reported. 20.1.3 WHQL is an important release as it now gives RX 5600 XT owners a WHQL driver — previously they had to resort to beta drivers to power their new purchase.

Radeon Software Adrenalin 20.1.4 Beta was released just days ago and does include additional changes that aren’t integrated in 20.1.3 WHQL yet, because Microsoft’s WHQL certification process takes some time. A few days ago we reported that AMD silently patched a driver security issue with 20.1.1 Beta, maybe that’s a reason, too, why we’re seeing a WHQL version today.

Fixed issues include corruption issues on Red Dead Redemption 2 under Vulkan; crashes on Vulkan-based games when performing a task switch while Radeon Image Sharpening is enabled; system hangs or black screens in GTA V at launch, missing audio in Radeon ReLive recordings, and Integer Scaling not being shown in some Windows 7 hardware configurations. Look after the break for other details of this release.
