NVIDIA today released GeForce 381.65 WHQL “Game Ready” drivers. The drivers come with optimization for “Quake Champions” closed beta. This isn’t, however, the biggest change with these drivers. These are the first WHQL-signed drivers from NVIDIA to support WDDM 2.2, and with it, the upcoming Windows 10 Creators Update, due for April 11th. The drivers also add DTS X and Dolby Atmos support for 5.1.2 speaker configuration through the GPU’s in-built audio controller (which outputs from the HDMI and DP connectors). Also added is support for Dolby Vision. Games “Snake Pass” and “Kona” get support for NVIDIA Ansel. There’s also the curious case of the driver’s release-notes mentioning “Added support for the NVIDIA TITAN Xp.”

Would you expect another TITAN? Well, I didn’t, but it’s here. Full GP102 graphics processor with 3840 CUDA cores is now available for 1200 USD.

The new TITAN, which is now called Xp ships with 12 GB GDDR5X memory across 384-bus. What’s new is memory speed which is set to 11.4 Gbps, even higher than GTX 1080 Ti. This results in 547.7 GB/s of bandwidth.

The boost clock is set to 1582 MHz, which means over 12 TFLOPs of computing power.

According to the official specs, this model supports 8K@60Hz resolution.

The card is already available for sale on NVIDIA website for 1200 USD.

AMD has released its Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.4.1 drivers. These drivers add support for Oculus Asynchronous Spacewarp (ASW) on Radeon R9 Fury series, Radeon R9 390 series and Radeon R9 290 series graphics cards; and support for SteamVR Asynchronous Reprojection on Radeon RX 480 and Radeon RX 470 (requires Windows 10). The drivers also enable DisplayPort 1.4 HBR3 mode on GPUs based on the “Polaris” architecture, letting you run 8K @ 60 Hz over a dual-cable connection, and 8K @ 30 Hz over a single cable. The drivers also fix display fickering noticed on AMD FreeSync setups running 3D applications in borderless-fullscreen mode, and bad multi-GPU scaling in “Ghost Recon: Wildlands.”

The Cougar Panzer Max is a full-tower representation of the Panzer chassis. It is larger, bulkier, has more space, and looks a lot more menacing to boot. It really does look like a tank, which is what “Panzer” means in German. So, in this review, we take the Panzer Max for a joy ride, fill it with some ammunition, and see if it is a straight shooter.

AMD have released the Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.3.3 Beta drivers. These drivers come with optimization for “Mass Effect: Andromeda,” including support for AMD CrossFire in DirectX 11 mode. To enable CrossFire, however, you need to input “-RenderDevice.AmdCrossfireEnable 1″ as a command-line argument (set launch options in Origin). The drivers also fix a texture flickering issue noticed with the game.

EVGA refreshed its popular G2 PSU family with the G3 one using Super Flower’s Leadex II platform. The 850 G3 is the second strongest member in this line-up, offering high performance and a depth of just 15cm. The SuperNOVA G3 units are based on a fresh Leadex II platform, and their most obvious upgrade over the G2 series is more compact dimensions. Packing higher capacity into smaller enclosures affects what we refer to as power density. Increasingly, PSU vendors are trying to do battle based on this concept of power density. Not long ago, SilverStone was the only company that really put an effort into shrinking its power supplies. Now the list is a lot longer.
