AMD has released the Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.1.1 beta drivers. This latest release brings performance improvements for Fortnite of up to 4% for the Radeon RX 580 at 1080p and up to 3% for the Radeon RX Vega 64 at 1080p compared to the previous 18.12.3 drivers. On top of this there are numerous fixes this time around including; Virtual Super Resolution not showing up on 1440p Ultra-Wide displays, system lag when using Alt-Tab during gameplay, performance metrics overlay feature not scaling correctly when changing resolution in-game just to name a few.

That said, AMD still has a few bugs to squash, as of right now Battlefield V players may still experience character outlines being stuck on screen after they are revived. Meanwhile uninstalling the Radeon Software may result in its failure to remove the Radeon settings.

The new Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.1.1 beta drivers are available online at the AMD driver download page.

samsung-860-qvo-ssdBy Nathan Kirsch @ Legit Reviews

Samsung launched a new consumer Solid State Drive (SSD) series today called the Samsung 860 QVO SSD. This SATA III 2.5-inch drive series is available in 1TB, 2TB and 4TB capacities and feature Samsung’s brand new high-density 4-bit multi-level cell (MLC) NAND flash. The Samsung 860 QVO was brought to market to help eliminate the need to for PC users to rely on a combination of an SSD as the boot drive and a rotational hard drive for mass storage. In order for that to happen the 860 QVO series needs to be rather inexpensive. The good news is that the Samsung 860 QVO 1TB SSD has a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $149.99 or roughly $0.15 per GB. The larger 860 QVO 2TB and 4TB drives have the same price per GB as they cost $299.99 and $599.99, respectively. These prices are still higher than using say a 256GB SATA SSD boot drive and a 2TB HDD for archive storage, but Samsung believes that the market is willing to pay a little extra as they don’t have to frequently switch data between the primary and secondary drive. Samsung firmly believes that the storage paradigm will shift back to all-in-one drive model.

NVIDIA has released the GeForce 416.94 WHQL “Game Ready” drivers. These come optimized for “Fallout 76,” “Hitman 2,” and “Battlefield V.” NVIDIA re-listing Battlefied V, a game it already optimized for with v416.81 could mean the company may have improved performance for the game. NVIDIA confirmed that a game patch will drop “soon” through Origin, which will add NVIDIA RTX support, more so because Microsoft has resumed rolling out Windows 10 1809. The drivers also add 3D Vision profiles for “Hitman 2″ and “Fallout 76.” A minor bug that caused lagging on Windows desktop with GeForce GTX 780 has also been fixed.
