Watch the Update 1.26 Trailer HERE.

Leading the charge in this update is the new line of Czechoslovakian light tanks, consisting of four swift flankers with the formidable Tier X Vz. 71 Tesák at the top. The high-tier tanks feature unique autocannons that unleash thousands!! of rounds per minute, so tankers should be ready to master these dynamic firing mechanics. Three vehicle branches just got stronger so players can expect the updates to the Bat.-Châtillon 25 t, M48 Patton, and K-91 branches.

Eight maps have been revamped for gameplay comfort, and three more have received Random Events. Players will witness the central plant in Pilsen being bombed, a plane crashing on the Malinovka mountain, and a rockslide altering the landscape in Karelia. These events reshape the battlefield, creating fresh opportunities and challenges.

The improvement of the Crew Perk system, which has undergone significant changes over several years, culminates in this update. From now, each crew member can learn up to 6 perks, and the XP earned thereafter will allow players to receive universal training manuals. Alongside these enhancements, players will find new and rebalanced perks, bonus perks, and more. This is the perfect time to fine-tune crew’s setup, as there will be a one-month period of free perk resets available after the first login to experiment and optimize.

Finally, the last Battle Pass Season of the year infused by the Waffenträger universe, echoing the excitement of the future battle, is ready to explore. It unveils Max von Krieger’s early life and features exclusive customization rewards.

World of Tanks Update 1.26: Hailstorm is now live and ready for players to enjoy.

In honor of the 80th anniversary of the Allied landings in Normandy on June 6, 1944, one of the most pivotal moments in World War II, World of Tanks is introducing a series of commemorative in-game events. These include a brand-new PvE mode called Operation Overlord, a themed Battle Pass Season, a special historical livestream directly from LCT 7074, the only known surviving Landing Craft Tank in the U.K. that participated in D-Day, and more.

From June 6, tankers can play a brand-new solo PvE mode inspired by Operation Overlord, which offers the chance to experience the combat of the Normandy landings. Participants will command the iconic M4A3E8 Sherman tank with the primary objective of breaching through the fortified enemy defenses. By destroying coastal bunkers that protect anti-aircraft batteries, players will activate extra AI-powered support from Allied forces recon planes and battleship artillery that will inflict colossal damage on targets.

Tankers will also face additional challenges, as the map is filled with deadly mines. To secure successful advancement, commanders will have a secret weapon on their side: the Sherman Crab—a specially designed mine-detecting tank that saw active service during WWII. During the historical landings, the Sherman Crab helped troops safely navigate the battlefield by deliberately detonating land mines, and it will be critical on the path to victory in the game mode.

In a special D-Day Battle Pass Season running from June until September, players will progress through three Chapters, unlocking three new Tier VI Premium tanks with Normandy-inspired 3D styles and three unique crew members. The Season offers extensive rewards that include bonds, credits, Premium Account, equipment, and other in-game goodies.

Tankers will also find a special interactive D-Day Events Map to help them learn about the events surrounding the anniversary. By progressing through a sequence of themed missions, players will get special Tokens that they can exchange for Premium vehicles, unique customizations, and days of Premium Account.

Click here for all the details on these special events.

The World of Tanks team has prepared a surprise, as it will be live-streaming on the official Twitch channel—https://www.twitch.tv/worldoftanks—on June 8 at 17:00 UTC+1 / 18:00 CEST from the LCT 7074, the only known surviving Landing Craft Tank in the U.K. that participated in D-Day.

And that’s not all, as a special D-Day collection will be available in the World of Tanks official licensed stores: https://worldoftanksstore.eu and https://worldoftanksstore.com. It features a range of commemorative products, including apparel (T-shirts and hoodies), mugs and tumblers, mousepads, puzzles, and Zippo lighters.

Over a week of gifts, and more, await tankers, including a brand-new Premium tank

World of Tanks’ August Heat is heating up even more with their 11th birthday celebrations. As with any anniversary, World of Tanks is offering up some great gifts to say thank you to their players for their continued support with Summer Presents.

For simply logging into the game, tankers will get their hands on a brand-new, historically accurate Premium tank: the T-34 with L-11. This Tier IV Soviet medium tank features a default concealment bonus and will come with a 100% trained crew and a Garage slot.

Additionally, tankers who log in 7 times on separate days between August 12th and 22nd will be rewarded with 7 days of World of Tanks Premium Account and 7 Gift Tickets, which can be exchanged for valuable rewards, including bonds, credits, and even more valuable goodies in a special section of the in-game Store.

We’ve prepared a special event for our 11th anniversary with some great gifts, and we invite all players, old and new, to come join us,” states Max Chuvalov, Publishing Director, World of Tanks. “We really hope everyone enjoys what Summer Presents, Update 1.14 and August Heat as a whole bring to the game!

Another huge part of August Heat is in full swing: the above-mentioned Update 1.14. The latest update introduces a line of Czechoslovakian heavies which will follow on from the Škoda T 25, the Tier VI medium tank. These beasts sport a feature unique to them: the choice of two guns, which are both equal in terms of performance and stats, but one features a two-shell autoloader, the other a classic cyclical gun. Additionally, with Update 1.14, tankers will also have more freedom to tinker and tune their vehicles to better suit their roles on the battlefield. Field Modifications are available to all Collectors’ and Tier VI-X vehicles, excluding rental ones.

As well as Czechoslovakian reinforcements and Field Modifications, a new map, Safe Haven, is coming to World of Tanks. Available for Random Battles, this summer map takes inspiration from 1960s Japan and features a soundtrack by the World of Tanks audio team and Akira Yamaoka, the man behind those iconic Silent Hill compositions.

And finally, Update 1.14 will also see the return of Frontline for the first time in 2021, a new game mode called Topography which will test and improve tankers’ knowledge of maps and various changes to select Premium vehicles and the Personal Missions for Artillery.

Players can also expect a whole heap of new features, including a brand-new mode, the latest season of Battle Pass, reworked HE shells and more

One of the biggest updates in recent history has arrived in World of Tanks. Update 1.13 sees major reworking of core mechanics, such as HE shells and SPG (self-propelled gun) countermeasures, as well as other changes and additions, such as a brand-new mode, the eagerly anticipated Season 5 of Battle Pass and interface improvements.

Watch the Artillery and High-Explosive shells: Important Changes for 2021 video HERE.

The heaviest change that players will notice is the new capabilities they now have to combat those vehicles that rain shells from the sky. SPGs have changed a great deal since their inception in World of Tanks, and it became clear more artillery countermeasures were needed to level the playing field somewhat. With the latest update, tankers will now have 3 tactical features at their disposal: Sound Detection is a new Commander-only perk which will warn those in the danger zone that an artillery shell is incoming through a special indicator, brighter shell tracers will allow players to better gauge from where an SPG has fired and the field of fire markers will let tankers know where an SPG recently fired (this marker will appear on the minimap for 10 seconds).

However, SPGs aren’t missing out on the fun either. Artillery now have three available shell types, all with their own purpose in battle, trajectory and velocity, granting a greater variety of tactical opportunities to arty players. Two of these shell types will not stun vehicles, which will greatly reduce the overall stun time seen in battle. Additionally, the SPG ammo interface has been updated and the Intuition perk has been reworked, meaning quicker changes of shells for all vehicle types.

Update 1.13 also sees the introduction of the reworked HE (high-explosive) shell mechanics on the main server. Now, HE shells will deal damage at the point of impact, meaning that damage will be calculated at the point of contact with the armor, unlike before which was based on a shell-burst sphere. Those playing heavily armored vehicles will certainly appreciate this change, as HE shells will inflict less damage to their frontal armor from now on. Additionally, they will also now be able to penetrate screens, tracks and the wheels of wheeled vehicles as well as insignificant and/or destructible objects, like fences, for example.

And there’s still more coming with Update 1.13. A brand-new game mode, Recon Mission, will allow tankers to test maps that are in the later stages of development, a collection of Premium vehicles and Clan Wars reward tanks are being rebalanced (as well as the Minsk map), Season 5 of Battle Pass is ready to challenge players, and a selection of interface improvements have been introduced.

Starting today, tankers can celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first-ever manned spaceflight

This coming Monday will mark 60 years since man’s first foray into space as six decades ago Yuri Gagarin, and his capsule Vostok 1, journeyed into outer space and completed 1 full orbit around Earth. Such an occasion demands a great celebration and World of Tanks is bringing exactly that to its players.

To the Stars! is a two-pronged event which will see players acquire Star Points. By acquiring this special form of in-game currency through daily missions, they themselves will get great rewards, such as a unique 2D style based on Vostok 1 and the man himself, Yuri Gagarin, as well as some other valuable goodies. Gagarin will be an in-game commander, dressed in his iconic orange flightsuit. His voicelines have been specially recorded by a professional voice actor who has mimicked both the diction and intonation of this renowned space hero. This part of the event will run until April 19th.

Alongside the personal progress, players need to join forces to complete a set of common goals: completing stages daily from today to April 12th. Just like personal progress, it will require players to earn Star Points and these will be added to a shared “piggy bank” between all tankers, so everyone’s contribution is crucial. Once the required Star Points have been acquired, more of Gagarin’s story unfolds. Besides more details becoming available, players will also get increased XP multipliers in battles between April 12th and 19th.

During the event, tankers can visit a special event website dedicated to the first-manned spaceflight and this significant astronautical milestone. The World of Tanks team worked closely with Galina Gagarina, daughter of Yuri, during the creation of this event to make sure her father’s story was told as accurately as possible.

Yuri Gagarin proved that humans can live and operate in space. His flight encouraged and gave hope to all those who dreamed of this! It kickstarted the deep understanding of humanity’s role in preserving and developing our cosmic home—Earth,” says the daughter of the legendary cosmonaut. “I’m happy to know that, through the millions-strong audience of World of Tanks, the memory of mankind’s first foray into space will be preserved for years to come!

Max Chuvalov, Publishing Director for World of Tanks, adds: “We would like to thank Galina Gagarina for all the help and advice she gave throughout the project. We are happy to share her father’s story with all our players and hopefully by doing so, more people will become inspired!

Players will be able to track both their own and the shared progress here. For more information about the To the Stars! event, visit worldoftanks.com.
