Sometime in February of 1999 SnQQpy.Dog began editing the side views of the 800x600 cockpits, and the rest is history! Since he began that project various custom cockpits have come into being, gradually adding various new features such as buttons that change color when selected, and even enhanced maps and threat lists.

Rufus Parson eventually modified Kim's cockpit (based on SnQQpy.Dog's work) and included some color corrections as well as ICP buttons that light up when selected. Joel Bierling sent me another cockpit mod. These also are based on the previous work of the other freelance cockpit artists. Joel's claim to fame is the addition of the ADI, VV, and AOA indicators to the down left and right views. All views were compared to pictures of real F-16 cockpits for more accuracy (especially for the night time look). Following are two images from his work:

Xis (version 5) cockpit is 1.07 certified and the download includes sound enhancements. Many fixes and tweaks were made September 10th. The Master Arm switch now works as well as ECM indicator. Click HERE. 1.9 MB.
