sniper-elite-5Rebellion, one of the world’s most successful video games developers and publishers, has today release a new Sniper Elite 5 video that reveals further details about the stealth options that will be available to players when the game is released on May 26th. Offering insight from the development team as well as from the game’s military advisor and motion capture artist Paul Biddiss, the new Spotlight trailer features interviews and gameplay footage showcasing the new traversal, sneaking and takedowns in Sniper Elite 5, including new non-lethal options. The new Spotlight video is available to watch HERE.

Paul Biddiss, the military advisor and action coordinator for a number of high-profile movies and TV shows, provided his expertise to the Sniper Elite 5 development team as well as being the motion capture artist for Karl Fairburne, helping to ensure the highest possible level of authenticity to his movements and takedowns. Speaking about his involvement in the game Paul said: “All the takedowns are realistic to the training that was given to SOE operatives… everything is realistic. There is no embellishment.”

The new video also gives details of the other stealthy options open to Karl including new traversal mechanics which open up hidden areas of the maps as well as giving the player alternative routes to approach their objectives. The player will also have to consider the audible distance of both their weapon and ammo when taking a shot if they want to remain undetected.

For Sniper Elite 5 the player will have a host of non-lethal options at their disposal including the ability to incapacitate the enemy with non-lethal takedowns and ammunition. These options provide the player with even greater scope to approach each mission and game scenario in a way that best suits their playstyle and their objective.

The latest game in the award-winning franchise, Sniper Elite 5 will release simultaneously on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 & 5, Steam and Windows Store on May 26th 2022.

field-of-glory-ii-medievalRise of the Swiss, the new Field of Glory II Medieval DLC, is now available on PC.

Showcasing one of the most revolutionary changes in battlefield tactics, Rise of the Swiss focuses on the introduction of the long pike. This long thrusting weapon became a dominant part of the Swiss’ weaponry back in the Fifteenth Century, due to its devastatingly long reach, and the DLC represents the first time players will be able to take advantage of its lethal range.

This fourth main DLC for Field of Glory II: Medieval also expands upon the intense turn-based action of the base game by adding four more historically-based campaigns, eight more historical scenarios, and many more features: 22 new units, 60 more army lists, 41 more historical matchups added to Quick Battle mode, increasing the total to 239, most playable from either side.

You can find more info on Rise of the Swiss’ Steam Page.

sniper-elite-5Rebellion, one of the world’s most successful video games developers and publishers, has today released a new gameplay trailer for Sniper Elite 5 which showcases the enhancements made to its genre defining slow motion Kill Cam. For the first time in the series Kill Cam can now be triggered by particularly clinical shots using SMGs and pistols as well as for eliminations using rifles and takedowns. Watch the new trailer HERE.

Enhancements have been made to both the physics and the visuals behind Sniper Elite 5’s Kill Cam. Bullets can now ricochet off bones causing even further internal devastation which is shown to the player in more detail thanks to enhancements in the visual representation of the characters including more definition on the skeleton, muscles, organs and sinew.

The inclusion of iron sights for both SMGs and pistols, a first for the series, will allow players to be more accurate with those weapons, which will in turn trigger a Kill Cam for the most clinical of shots. Players will also have control over the Kill Cam in real time with ability to speed up/slow down the cinematic as well as being able to adjust the camera angle.

A favourite feature with fans of the franchise, the frequency with which a player sees Kill Cam can be adjusted in the game’s menu, including the ability to turn it off completely.

The weapons in Sniper Elite 5 have been painstakingly recreated from real world reference to ensure maximum authenticity. Players can now customise their weapons by discovering workbenches hidden within the missions. Each workbench will unlock further customisation options. This means that they can adjust their chosen loadout to suit their individual play style and the objective that they are undertaking.

Sniper Elite 5 releases simultaneously on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 4 & 5, Steam and Windows Store on Thursday May 26th. The game features an immersive campaign, which is playable in single player and two player co-op, adversarial multiplayer for up to 16 players and a new Invasion Mode which allows another player to join your game as an Axis Sniper tasked with taking you out.

Players who pre-order Sniper Elite 5 will also receive the latest mission of the much heralded ‘Target Führer’ campaign entitled “Wolf Mountain”. The Deluxe Edition is also available to pre-order and will include Season Pass One (2 Campaign Missions, 2 Weapon skin packs, 2 Character Packs, 6 Weapon Packs), Target Führer and a P.1938 Suppressed Pistol for those who pre-order.

arma-reforgerBy By Jonathan Bolding @ PCGamer

A leaked marketing guide has alleged that the next game in the Arma series may be Arma Reforger, a game using Bohemia Interactive’s new Enfusion engine which is not, notably, Arma 4. Due to the complexity of developing Arma 4, says the guide, Bohemia intends for Arma Reforger to be a bridge between the current Arma community and the new game that will also introduce the franchise to a new audience—console players. Arma Reforger will supposedly launch on both Xbox and PlayStation consoles.

The marketing guide was posted to a Reddit forum called Gaming Leaks and Rumours. It’s being widely treated as credible given that Bohemia themselves are giving a The Future of Arma presentation on May 17th, per a post last week.

The leak says that the game will take place on a fictional island called Everon in the Atlantic ocean, near to other fictional “Armaverse” island Malden. The most notable upset is that it’ll be set in “an alternate 1989″ during a conflict between US and Soviet forces. It’s being positioned as a “military simulation game (as opposed to ‘simulator’)”, which is a more direct way to say that perhaps Arma Reforger will be a bit more accessible than previously. Bohemia also apparently hopes that by releasing the Enfusion engine and technology to modders before the launch of Arma 4 proper, a capable modding community will already be in place for launch.

Notably, the marketing guide also emphasizes Bohemia’s continued work with the International Committee of the Red Cross, previously exemplified by the Laws of War DLC for Arma 3. The marketing guide says that Arma will continue to cultivate the features of the series that have an “anti-war humanitarian focus” by continuing “to expose, disseminate, and promote International Humanitarian Law in-game.”
