Home Page
Main entry into the entire site. This is where we used to post all the day's news and articles. Now, because we no longer publish regularly, we use this page as a welcome page to the site and for the occasional new article announcement. Go to home page.
Articles (past article search)
Articles on COMBATSIM.COM fall under two main headings: Games and Real Military. Here is a detailed breakdown of our past coverage.

News: (past news search)
We've always reported on combat simulation and strategy game software development, the industry, and notable people within the industry since we started this website back in 1996. This coverage was intermittent, however. In August of 1999 we started a regular, daily news service. Again, like with our articles, we covered both game industry news and events surrounding combat simulations as well as the real military, aerospace, and defence industry news.

We still have one of the largest archives of downloadable files (e.g., add-ons, demos, patches) and hyperlinks to other great combat simming fan sites, corporate sites, and related files.

- Popular Sim Indexes
Each index gives you all the links to articles, files, and community sites for one simulation or strategy game. The list of popular sim indexes does by no means cover all the games for which we have articles. As the name suggests, they are only the more popular sims.

We started a dedicated files and links database back in 1998. This worked well for a time, but it soon became obvious that the category method of file and link classification was limiting and not all that scalable. There is a ton of useful files and links still there, but we eventually stopped updating the database with new demo, patch and add-on links in favour of just updating the Popular Sim pages (see above).
Remember how we said the article content isn't databased? We lied, well, sort of. We have indexed every word of all of our articles and news you can do a keyword search on that database. We also have a keyword searchable files and links. It goes without saying that you can also search all of the forums, both old and new.
