The Game Settings were quite simple to understand also. The "In-game Language" selection toggles between the language that would be used by the helicopter crew based on the helicopter squad's country of origin (Actual) and the language for the country where you purchased the software (Local). I initially though I had mistakenly received a German version of the software when my ground control started speaking in German.

I ran with all graphics setting on maximum. My computer is a PII 400mHz with 384 MB of 100mHz FSB RAM. I tried my TNT2 Ultra and my Voodoo3 3000 PCI. My system had no stuttering or other graphic's abnormalities with either card. The Voodoo2 1000 was just not up to the task. The windowed option worked fine for me. I can not fathom a need for this but perhaps if you wanted to take the simulation to work for some unknown reason….hmmmmm.

I thought to give the Training section a quick try next. With my skills it is not a question of whether I need training but whether any simulation can supply enough to make a difference. Gunship! has a very modest training section.

This is really more an adjunct to the Quick Start Guide than what I would view as a serious training section. To date my benchmark for Training in a simulation is Flanker 2.0 (voice over, instructor guided training with the options to take over from the instructor at anytime). There are some important tidbits in this brief training section. Switching to TADS mode, if you are in the Pilot seat, hands over control to the Gunner. When you are in the Pilot's seat with TADS mode selected, the Gunner will select the targets. Use Next Target and Previous Target, from the Pilot's seat in TADS mode (even though you might think you should be using Radar Next target and Radar Previous Target from the misprinted keyboard map), to select targets for the Gunner to lock up.

The correct keyboard maps are shown below with non-functional keys for each cockpit grayed out:

There are radar guided ATGMs and laser guided ATGMs. You must have the radar display called up (use 'E' and 'R' keys to cycle MFD displays) on one of the MFDs to target radar guided missiles. From the Gunner's cockpit, select Next Radar Target or Previous Radar Target and Lock them up to fire. Similarly, to target the laser guided missiles, from the Gunner's cockpit the laser must be turned on and one of the two IHADSS modes selected.
