Thomas Rudder Pedals
by Kurt Giesselman

As I said the action with the pedals is very smooth. However, with the cover in place, the angle adjustment for the pedals is fairly minimal. I had previously tried CH Products rudder pedals and did not care for the sliding action type of control they required.

No aircraft I know of requires placing your feet flat on the floor and sliding them back and forth. Aircraft rudder pedals, fixed wing and helicopters, use a push-pull type of movement where you are extending and retracting your legs to effect the yaw of the aircraft.

With the cover off

I removed the plastic cover from the pedals. This allowed a much larger range of adjustment for the pedal angle. It is possible to angle the pedals vertical enough with the cover off to simulate a fixed wing aircraft pedal.

I have suggested to Thomas Enterprises that if they would just move the attachment point for the pedals to the mechanism two inches rearward, that enough rake could be adjusted into the pedals with the cover on for fixed wing aircraft or with the cover off for helicopters. Customers that prefer the sliding action could still adjust the pedals to flat and level.

Easy access

The construction on the pedals is flawless. Thomas Enterprises has taken over design to a whole new level with their full line of products and these flight pedals are no exception. Changing the potentiometer, the only part not covered by a lifetime warranty, is literally a two minute job. You will need real tools for the task but there are no parts that anyone short of Hulk Hogan could break.
