Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Island Thunder
Ubi Soft today announced the forthcoming release of the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon : Island Thunder mission pack. Ghost Recon: Island Thunder is set for release November 2002. Island Thunder is set in Cuba, 2009, Castro is dead, and the first free elections in decades are thrown into turmoil by a drug-funded warlord. The Ghosts, an elite team of U.S. Army Green Berets, are sent to Cuba as part of a UN peacekeeping force to destroy the rebel forces and their mercenary leaders and secure the elections for a free Cuba. Island Thunder features, 8 new single-player missions, 5 new dedicated multiplayer maps and 12 new multiplayer weapons, including the M4 SOCOM rifle and the MM-1 automatic grenade launcher, and new Cuban enemy vehicles, new allied vehicles and insertions by helicopter. New Screens: IL-2 The Forgotten Battles
Ubi Soft has posted more screenshots from the upcoming IL-2 Sturmovik add-on, The Forgotten Battles. The Forgotten Battles will include two new maps for Finland and Hungary, expanding the battlefield for both single and multiplayer modes. It will also feature more than 20 new single player missions and ten cooperative multiplayer missions. The Forgotten Battles is expected to ship to retail stores worldwide in Fall 2002.
Black Hawk Down Beta Test A Huge Success
NovaLogic Ltd. said today that the open multiplayer beta test for its title Delta Force - Black Hawk Down has been completed, with over 200,000 successful downloads recorded over the 7 day availability period.
This number included over 115,000 downloads directly from www.novalogic.com, with additional numbers coming from key mirror partners GameSpy, Nvidia and FileShack. The beta was also successfully mirrored by a number of other sites, each one contributing heavily to the overwhelming response.
NovaLogic plans to release an official multiplayer demo for the title at the end of August 2002. Delta Force - Black Hawk Down will ship on PC CD - ROM during October 2002.
