IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles Upgraded from Add-On to Full Sequel
Ubi Soft Entertainment today announced that the next product in the IL-2 Sturmovik flight simulation product line, Forgotten Battles, has been upgraded from add-on to full sequel status. As a full, standalone sequel, IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles will not require gamers to own the original IL2 Sturmovik product.
"Maddox Games has done a great job in creating two cd's worth of new, high-quality content that exceeded our expectations for an add-on," said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing, Ubi Soft Entertainment. "Rather than rush a product out for the holidays, we'll spend additional time in development to allow Maddox Games to build the full sequel product that the content justifies. We now anticipate a launch date in February 2003."
New Screens: Panzers
We have a peek at brand new screens from CDV Softwares upcoming tactical combat title, Panzers. The first shot shows two British Crusader II tanks colliding in a street, as they are under enemy fire. Pay attention to the details in the ruins and the explosion when they collide. The second shot shows german troops who are accompanied by a german Tiger tank. And the third shot shows Sherman which is holding its position against the german forces.
Sudden Strike II Mod
SGN has yet finished a new version of their popular Sudden Strike II Mod called SSNM. The new version not only enables the default combat in WWII, but also allows you to participate in WWI with all of the original weapons from all parties. If you want to play with a (Cannon d Ássault) Schneider" or the British Mark-V", you're free to do so. SSNM brings WWI warfare to the realms of Sudden Strike II. Click here for more info on the mod.

New Screens: R63 Raven Shield
We have these new screenshots from Rainbow Six: Raven Shield, the latest in squad-based tactical shooter series. The game will utilize graphics technology provided by the next-generation Unreal engine to power 15 new single-player missions that include the discovery of a cache of biological weapons and stopping an armed gang from terrorizing a London bank. Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield is scheduled for release February 2003 and the multiplayer demo will be released this month.
