Programming with Saitek Gaming Extensions

Next let's program a cycle of actions. In Falcon the Master Arm-Cycle command (Alt-M) has three steps including Simulate mode. I prefer to switch directly between 'weapons hot' and 'weapons safe' but only want to use one button to do this. Go through the same steps as above to create a new command but select 'Cycle' not 'Single Action'. You will be presented with a list of all available commands on the left side with an right arrow (Add to list ) and left arrow (Delete from list) in the center. The right hand list shows the current sequence of events programmed. A command may be dragged and dropped or highlighted (move with the right or left arrows) to be added or deleted. In this example, the command sent to the sim will alternate between Master Arm-on and Master Arm-safe every time the HOTAS button programmed for this is pressed (Hat 3 down in Mode 2 + pinkie for my setup). Cycling through comms channels or nested menus are much less complex with this new programming capability.

In part two we will program the rotaries, hats, and switches. There are a lot of new tricks to be learned and great ideas about things you can do with your HOTAS that you may never have considered possible. Go There Now!
