ADF Tour of Duty: Dictator Mali |

Here is the briefing. You can download the mission HERE or at the end of this page. Instructions for installation are at page right on in the readme text in the ZIP file. National Theft Prelude 12:03am 4th July 2006 For six months, Egypt has been run by a military dictatorship government, brought into power after a coup led by insurrectionalist army leader Mali -- who instated himself as dictator. In the last twelve weeks, Mali has been constantly hassling the US to allow Egypt to buy several of the US's prized new fighter aircraft : the F22. The US continue to refuse sales on principle -- regardless of the money Mali offers -- and relations between the two countries are now strained... Egypt Mission 1 As the second in command to Dictator Mali, and an experienced pilot, I had been chosen for this daring mission. This was the 230th anniversary of the Americans' Declaration of Independence, and we were hoping that this would result in security at Yanbu al Bahr US military airfield, Saudi Arabia, being slack. Crossing the Red Sea in a sailing boat was a difficult task in itself, yet necessary to avoid suspicion. I looked up at the stars and thought about how many years ago people had guided boats by them. I could not seem to focus on any one at once, which made me glad I had the comfort of my GPS system. On reaching the shore close by the airfield, I dragged the sailing boat up the beach and memorised the position on the GPS in case I had to return to it. I hoped that this would not be necessary, for if I did return, it would likely be due to my being pursued by American security guards. It was about 0130 hours now, and I began my trek to the airfield. I checked the pocket of my American airman's uniform for the ID card, and cursed when I noticed it was no longer there. I could not turn back : I'd either carry out this mission, or fail. I could already hear music from the barracks in the airfield as I walked towards the security gates. My heart gasped when I heard a shout come from a security guard consealed in a small gun emplacement. I turned round. "Typical, they're bringing men from OTHER airfields in to the party now, are they? And I'm the poor sod who has to sit here on security duty! Go on in, have a wonderful time, don't think about me getting bored sick sitting here, or anything." "There may be a few more coming after me," I replied, and I heard a displeased grunt come from the emplacement. This was all too easy. Surely security would be tighter than this? I headed towards the barracks, and then walked to the part of the taxiway where there was supposedly -- according to Egyptian intelligence -- an F22. It was there. I crawled up onto the wing and into the cockpit, then began to carry out the necessary alterations to the avionics which Mali had taught me to do, to avoid being shot down when I returned to Mina Baranis, Egypt with the plane. The controls were all very intuitive -- much unlike the Mig 29s' I was so used to, and making these alterations was simple. I began to hear voices coming closer, "Yes...right here...can sit in the cockpit if you like...perfectly safe...amazing aircraft..." On this, I knew I had little time to act. I started the engines, to which I heard a flurry of commotion come from the barracks behind me. I taxiied the aircraft over the sand towards the runway, and my head was thrust into the headrest as I opened the throttle fully to take off. To use this Tour of Duty, you should delete (or rename) all the following folders in your ADF directory:
Then unzip the contents of this zip file ALLOWING it to recreate its directory structure, into the f22adf folder. The 8 missions here have been created using the PACTHED version of F22, WITHOUT the Red Sea Ops addon. It should work with other versions anyway... The "Tour" is in the Simulator menu, called "Dictator Mali", and that's about all you need to know -- except that some of the missions are EXTREMELY difficult.
